A Monastic Spiritual Retreat

The Maronite Monks of Adoration are a Catholic, monastic community of the Eastern tradition — men dedicated to the life of prayer, adoration and reparation. We are not retreat masters in the usual sense, but in keeping with the ancient tradition of monastic hospitality, we have some rooms set aside to welcome guests. Individual men seeking spiritual refreshment and renewal are welcome to come and spend a few days with us, at any time, for a silent retreat in our Guesthouse.

The following characterize the retreats at Most Holy Trinity Monastery:

Prayer

Like the monks’ daily schedule, your time spent on retreat revolves around the sacred liturgy. You will also have ample leisure for adoration of the Blessed Sacrament which is exposed at various times throughout the day in the monastery chapel and for your own personal meditation.

Lectio Divina

The schedule will also provide you with a generous amount of time for spiritual reading. Please do not fail to use your time well. Books are available in the guesthouse for a variety of good reading materials.

Silence

Silence is an integral part of our monastic life and we are jealous of our quiet. This is also essential for a good retreat. You may speak with the Guestmaster and he will assist you in your needs. To help maintain silence, please do not use radios, televisions or other such devices during your retreat. We do not provide for use of email or internet.

Reconciliation

A confessor from among our monk-priests is available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation upon arrangement with the Guestmaster.

Meals

Meals are taken in silence, self-service, buffet style. Breakfast, Midday and Evening meals are in the monks’ refectory. Drinks and snacks are available throughout the day in the Visitors’ Center. Please provide for your special dietary needs.
